Morgan County's 24-Hour View
The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office does not publish a standalone, searchable 24-hour release archive. Its official 48 Hour Release view includes everyone the system records as released from the Morgan County Detention Center during the preceding 48 hours. To make a 24-hour list from that official view, compare each card’s exact Release Date and time with the current time and keep only entries inside the most recent day.
This is affirmative release output, unlike a current-inmate roster from which a disappearance might be misread. Even so, “released” describes the end of that Morgan County booking. It does not establish that the person entered the community. A transfer to the Missouri Department of Corrections, another county, federal custody, or immigration custody can end the local booking without ending custody.
Filter the Sheriff Release Roster
Start from the official Morgan County roster selector so a cached profile or similarly named county page does not lead to the wrong source.
- Choose 48 Hour Release, not Current Inmates.
- Use the name search, alphabet filter, or newer/older sorting controls to narrow the displayed cards.
- Read the exact Release Date and time. Exclude a card older than 24 hours if the goal is a one-day view.
- Open the profile and compare the booking number, booking date, age or other displayed identity details, and arresting agency. A name alone is not a reliable match.
- Save the booking number, direct source URL, release timestamp, and access date because the public card is designed to roll off.
- Call the detention center at 573-378-5481 when the release destination or reason matters.
The official source publishes an exact time but does not state a fixed database refresh cadence. “Rolling 48-hour display” is accurate. Descriptions such as instant or real-time are not supported by the Sheriff’s published material.
Fields on Morgan Release Cards
The displayed fields describe the booking and the Sheriff database’s recorded exit. They do not replace the court docket or the underlying release entry.

The Morgan 48-Plus-24 Pattern
Morgan County uses an unusual two-channel pattern. The browsable website covers a rolling 48 hours, while the Sheriff’s Inmate Roster alert is described as a daily listing of bookings and releases during the previous 24 hours, published daily as needed. The alert can be delivered by email or SMS. It is a prospective digest, not an archive that can be searched after the fact.
Someone who wants the broad daily activity notice must subscribe before the event. “Published Daily as Needed” also means the alert should not be described as guaranteed every calendar day. The website remains the better immediate browsing channel for the last day because it includes those hours within its 48-hour range. An alert already received can preserve a clue after the web card rolls off, but the Sheriff’s underlying record is the stronger confirmation.
This digest is different from MOVANS/VINELink. The Sheriff alert covers general roster activity. MOVANS is intended for a specific participating custody or court record. As of May 5, 2026, Missouri local custody and court notifications use SMS and email; MODOC custody notifications are arranged through MODOC Victim Services.
Bond Does Not Explain Release
A dollar amount on a Morgan County release card must not be converted into “bonded out.” The released view does not display a release-reason or destination field, and the linked profile warns that charges and bail may change. A zero-dollar value is equally inconclusive. It might accompany personal recognizance, sentence completion, a transfer, dismissal, or some other event, but the card itself does not decide among those possibilities.
Use the booking number in a targeted call to 573-378-5481 and ask whether the event was a community release or transfer. If a public record is needed, request the admission and release fields, release type or disposition code, and transfer or release destination. Then use Case.net for the associated legal outcome. A bond order can authorize release while jail processing continues; a dismissal can resolve a charge without supplying the physical exit time. The two sources answer different questions.
No Official Morgan Sheriff App
No official Morgan County Sheriff mobile application was identified in the research. The local agency provides a responsive website, email and SMS subscriptions, and an official Facebook page. A similarly named Morgan County app may belong to a county in another state, so confirm the Missouri agency and source domain before relying on it.
Missouri DPS also states that MobilePatrol and Missouri Sheriff Connect are not affiliated with DPS or MOVANS. They are not substitutes for the Sheriff’s recorded timestamp or direct jail confirmation. For a phone, open the official roster in a browser. For broad local updates, subscribe to the Sheriff alert. For one-person participating custody notifications, use the current Missouri VINELink route and confirm any notice with the named agency.
Press Releases Are Selective
The Morgan County Sheriff’s press-release archive includes selected releases, “Inmate Count” items, and dated redacted weekly reports. Those materials may add local context or contain a selected official image, but they are not a systematic record of everyone released during a day. Each post or linked PDF must be inspected individually before any booking or release statistic is quoted.
A press item can also concern an arrest, investigation, or facility count rather than a completed release. Publication date is not release date, and an image in a news post does not prove a later jail exit. Use a press item as a lead, match it to the official booking number or court case, and return to the released roster or the Sheriff for the actual custody event.
After a Morgan Card Expires
The web window’s expiration is display behavior, not a statement that Morgan County destroyed the underlying record. The Sheriff publishes no searchable historical roster archive, dedicated Sunshine form, fee chart, or guaranteed turnaround for these records. A focused Missouri Sunshine request can ask for the booking sheet, admission and release timestamps, release type, destination, and photograph. Identify the person, booking number, and approximate date; request electronic delivery and an itemized estimate before chargeable work.
Missouri law does not require a special request form. Section 610.023 requires action as soon as possible and no later than the end of the third business day. When records cannot be ready by then, the public body must explain the cause and give the earliest availability date. The Attorney General’s Sunshine guidance says standard copies can cost up to ten cents per page plus average clerical duplication time, and research may be charged at the actual cost of the lowest-paid capable employee. Other media are charged at actual cost. Electronic delivery and a narrow date range can reduce avoidable work. If part of a record is closed, ask for the open portions and the specific authority supporting the withholding.
